I do not recall seeingan announcement or Obituary of Leroy's passing-when did he pass on? Leroy Burgess was an outstanding soldier and one helluva a good M60 Gunner. Had a good upbeat attitude and cool in the midst of fire. Sad to see You go Soldier before you made it to Branson and will miss seeing you in Killeen/Ft Hood. 'Boot to Boot' Sergeant Major-you were a Trooper's Trooper and we are Brothers Still!

Welcome George-I was Charlie Company; came in Aug 66. I too am a recovering Oilfielder-was a Roughneck/Driller/Fishing Tool Operator and Production/Completion Tools Specialist with Baker Oil Tools 70S-80S. Lasted in the 80s collapse until 1988 then went to some small time contract (one-man) construction-refurbing work. Went back to school then worked in an In Residence Therapeutic Treatment Community for Pre-Parole Re-entry Counseling and Re-socialization of Released Inmates from TDCJ. Last 4 Years 1999-2003 before Full Comp and Social Security was along-Term Contract Sub Teacher for Midland High School-Midland, TX. Sorry about your loss and Happy for your new relationship. Your name rings a bell; have you attended any reunions-Division, 12th Regiment or C Company? If not, hope to see you at one of these. Details of 2016 Upcoming ones will be in Crossed Sabers Newsletter, next issue about end of month. It will be posted on the 12th Regiment Web site www.12th Cav.US and if Shakey decides to post on this site. Has Dave Wenzel placed you on 12th Cavalry Regiment Membership Roster? If so, can mail you a printed version of the Crossed Sabers. Let me know-mmctlc3@aol.com, or Cell # 432-853-4851, Home 432-689-8330, Midland, TX.
